History

Royal Family of Bikaner & Malagarh

It was some 300 years ago when the property of Malagarh came into existence and its current structure belongs to the reign of Maharaja Ganga Singh Ji (late 19th century) the prominent member of Bikaner Royal Family.  Situated in the heart of the small traditional village it was beautifully fenced with lush green views on one side and a far-reaching site of dunes on the other.

Being a family house, it was packed with all luxury amenities that bore the emblem of royalty and extreme taste in a collection of rare artifacts.

It was designed and constructed for accommodating the family as well as for the families of supporting staff. The courtyards, private balconies and exquisitely designed veranda were constructed paying minute and dedicated labor at every nook and corner

Just after the war of independence in India, the fort has seen its dark days. But with the strong will and highly spirited souls were determined to never let down their home cherished with fond memories of childhood.
